Less characters this time but updates none the less.

Ganondorf, for one thing, if its possible he got buffed. Hes a bit slower now but his power more than makes up for it. His new tilt is the “sparta kick”(from 300 where leonidas kicks the guy into the pit). There was one time where I hit someone with his bair and I was surprised at how hard it hit… and I play Ganondorf in Melee A LOT.

Mr. Game and Watch. There is little to talk about but his FS is where its at. His Uair has been changes to a multi-hit attack from oil panic and the parachute has been moved to part of his up b attack, after the initial jump he floats a bit with the parachute. Now his final smash OH HO HO, it Turns you into the Octopus from Octopus, you can freely move around the screen and I presume that pressing A actually makes it attack. Let me tell you now there is no way you are going to live if you see this coming at you, because one its huge and covers way too much area to escape, two it hits REALLY hard, and three its the perfect edge guard and you cant get back EVER.

And on to R.O.B., if you are planning on using him plan on using a lot of air attacks. His Dair, Fair and Bair all propel him in the opposite direction a bit and hit hard. Dair can be used to spike and get back. Fair and Bair are the same like zelda where he fires his jump jets at them and they hit pretty well too, nair is a multi-hit where he swings his arms around and his uair spins him around while firing his jets. He runs fast, as fast or faster than fox which is scary. FS is good too, he goes berserk(but still controlable) fires a cone of energy from his eyes and is invincible, occasionaly or I guess by button he’ll fire a laser instead of the cone and it basically stabs them and they are gone, also touching him in this form will constantly damage you.

Something that is probably apparent already to players and video watchers, there are only 4 different classifications for Final Smashes there are some that border types but they should probably be considered what I put them down as I guess.

Strike- Attack must hit an opponent first before continuing
Link/Toon Link – Triforce Slash

Marth – unknown FE attack

Transform- Character changes into a different controllable form

Brawl Impressions

Today was my first day playing Brawl, I’m posting all the first hand impressions I had of playing Melee one day and then Brawl the next.

Note that the mode was limited to 4 player VS all items all stages(including melee and custom).

The first character I tested was Sonic, I based my initial game of him on my skills of Fox in Melee. This failed miserably, Sonic is hard to use or get used to, his movements are very fast and twitchy but he has very little kill moves. If I had more time to experiment with him the next time would be to try running circles around enemies which is easier said than done in 4 player with him.

Peach…where to start. As many people have mentioned before, her down smash has been nerfed, not too bad but it wont kill anything. Her Final Smash WILL put people off the edge of the stage to sleep and kill them, but using it while the opponent is at low damage and still on the stage is a bad idea.

Samus is for the most part better with exception to her charge beam and missiles. FAir is actually…perfect, down smash is faster and UAir hits harder now too. Didn’t get to use FS with her so I don’t have any words for it yet really.

ZSS, switched to her manually. Surprisingly she is pretty decent, the plasma whip hits hard and reaches far I managed to kill a DDD and Bowser fairly easily.

Fox…I am so disgusted with. Everything that I used to do with him that made me good is gone, Forward smash and Up smash can’t kill anything. You can’t jump cancel the Down B, I think the only redeeming factor about him was the Landmaster.

Ice Climbers have been balanced and yet not changed in a bad way. Both climbers can share the same ledge, they seem like they have more powerful smashes and airs, down side is that their side b doesn’t go as high but nana will start spinning basically no matter where she is.

Snake is and isn’t hard to get used to. A lot of his attacks have hard solid hits but some of his attacks like the remote missile can be a little daunting to use correctly. Another thing is that his forward smash is misleading, its the move where he fires at the ground and his down smash is to bury a mine.

Zelda, holy crap Zelda, I like her even more than I used to. Side air got buffed, dash attack has more knock back, down smash killed someone hanging on an edge like a shine spike, and up smash seems to do more damage or last longer. One thing was that I hit two people with the FS in the same shot and neither died, they started somewhere around 20% on Final Destination.

Metaknight is nice and balanced. He is fast, his attacks are too over powered, nice recovery and not rigged FS.

Lucario is a much better Mewtwo, his play style is very close but with a lot of better moves. His FS is decent in the fact that if everyone is on one side of the beam you can just sweep them all off and usually kill them.

Pit is just flat out rigged. Arrow spam, trap someone in a corner and hold side B. FS is generally avoidable in a 4 player match and didn’t do much damage. Avoid some of his air attacks.

Lucas is probably my new main character now. Imagine Ness in god tier all of his air attacks are good, nair is the same as mewtwo’s and so is his down smash. his forward b is also an amazing attack, it makes a flare of fire and actually hits the enemy away with a good amount of knock back. his down b seems to make you think that he could get hit out of it by even something that normal psi magnet would take it because it holds it over one half of his body but when I tried absorbing an aura sphere attack from Lucario I thought I was going to get hit but somehow Lucas turned around and took it. PK Starstorm managed to kill 2 of the 3 other people on the field in mushroomy kingdom underground. Overall amazing compared to Ness.

Thats all I got to play with before I had to leave also note that attacks like snake zss and sonic’s dair are all bad because when you land you are like stuck waiting for a long time before you can stand up. I might be playing tomorrow Ill try out more characters then.

See for yourself, the numbers don’t lie. The iso that was supposed to be a rip of a leaked brawl copy is in fact a rip of Mario Strikers… also 4Q in the header code registers as a Disney game if I’m correct. So many lols will be had, this also makes me feel better about spoilers not going around. If anyone else has the VORTEX ISO and it is Brawl, prove me wrong, but I don’t think it will be.

For clarification I did not intend on running the game, I only have the ISO to inspect the data and if anything its already deleted.

Keep and eye out on info, Brawl was leaked.

Two days ago a disc image of brawl was leaked on the internet. What this means is that many people in the states with their nasty modded Wiis will be able to play it almost a month early. It also means that you will be hearing a lot of info so unless you want spoilers be careful where you go on the internet.

Hey all you readers…(according to the statics all 189 of you)
As there are roughly 77days left and I haven’t been posting a lot recently.

So now I’m going to rewind each week of updates on Saturdays. I’ll also post some comments mixed in. Here we go!

Monday
-Ice Climbers Final Smash: Iceberg (another move that could potentially be rigged for its ability to freeze)

Tuesday
-Smart Bomb What I hear is that this design was taken from Assault…would’ve liked 64 style personally
-Training mode

Wednesday
-Color Changes LOVE gothic zelda, dark link, dark fox, and the oddly colored tiger/leopard snake

Thursday
-Saki Amamiya cool idea to add him, this is a little surprising that they added a third party character(Treasure Co. Ltd.) without a companion playable. if you didn’t play the original game when it was out or when it recently made it to the US on VC… DO IT! just don’t freak out when you see the facial textures

Friday
-Lucas Final Smash: PK Starstorm pretty nice FS from what i can see lucas is turning into a really nice(and by nice i mean totally rigged) character
-Charged Special Moves

Now this is an awesome level and I’m greatly anticipating the music they are going to think up for this stage. But basing it off a feature that has Wi-Fi with a system that already has compatibility with the Wii begs the question… why can’t you draw your own levels. The first obvious answer would’ve probably been “Well what happens if you draw a box around the stage? Wouldn’t that make it impossible for anyone to win?” I would respond with my thought that after about 30 seconds or a minute the game will probably erase the drawn level and prompt the DS for another level or if nothing is given it would simply choose from the pre-made levels. Another thing that me and my friend thought of was “Wouldn’t you be able to draw profane things and wouldn’t said things show up in online”, while theres not much you can do about what the person is drawing but very simply you could disable drawing while online. Only one other thing I thought of was that it might be a problem implementing or communicating with the existing PictoChat program and therefor they could easily just make a simple “clone” program that the game sends to the DS allowing drawing control. PRETTY PLEASE SAKURAI? Do it for me…and some other people.

Brawl Delayed…

Brawl will be delayed until Feb 10th almost a month behind the Japanese release and if by month I mean nit picking about only 2 weeks(we are paying the price for getting Wii 2 weeks before Japan).

So thems the news what choo gunna do?

Also if you rummage around  gamevideos.com you can find two play videos of the game. In the one with sonic you can hear a loud DERP from one of the spectators as super sonic plows into link.

Sonic the Hedgehog Joins the Brawl!

Well its finally happened, Sonic was officially announced on Oct at 3am on the Dojo site, and the internet exploded. I’m speechless about this although I had hope from the beginning.

There was also a video shown about sonic but its impossible for me to show it here to the the official site and check it out. In the video they even showed  Super Sonic which I would bet money on that that is Sonic’s Final Smash.

Another minor thing I caught while Sonic’s video was eating my brain was that sonic use a warp star that hasn’t been shown yet as an item, also in the conference video they showed Kyogre and Torchick as pokeball items and a whole mess of other stuff.
